Decorator Icing

Christmas Sugar CookiesImage by crazybarefootpoet via Flickr

If there's no whipped cream available, this is a good substitute for buttercream icing.

Ingredients:

2/3 cup butter, softened
4 cups confectioners' sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon almond flavoring
4 drops red food coloring (optional)

Procedure:
1. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, confectioners' sugar, and milk until light and fluffy, about 3 to 4 minutes. Beat in the vanilla and food coloring. Spread on or between cookies.

Have fun decorating!
